The Huntington Museum of Art: Dale Chihuly

There are many beautiful glass pieces on display at The Huntington Museum of Art. One is a very large sculpture piece located in the conservatory of the museum. The glass sculpture, designed by artist Dale Chihuly, is comprised of 352 pieces and stands 10 feet by six feet tall. Please watch the video showcasing his piece at the museum and then learn more about him from a video interview. After watching both videos complete your graphic organizer See/Think /Wonder. Your next step will be to illustrate the glass sculpture on display at the Huntington Museum of Art. Dale Chihuly glass tree - Picture of Huntington Museum of Art, Huntington

My Day at Blenko Glass from Amy Maynard on Vimeo.

After viewing the video, students will generate a list of comparisons and differences to the virtual tour from " The Hot Spot" and the self guided tour of " The Hot Spot". Please include tools, devices, and any other relevant information. Each group will create a visual aid presentation about a glass factory.
